Mbeiza Juliana is a nine-year-old girl with physical disabilities and John’s syndrome; she lives with her mother, Namukose Betty, aged 45years single mother with seven children plus others dependant in the Bulangira zone, Naigombwa ward, Kaliro Town Council in Kaliro district.
Namukose Betty married to an alcoholic man who is a peasant who later married another wife in Namutumba districts in Busoga region in Eastern Uganda; he abandoned her in the house with seven children plus another dependent after giving birth to Mbeiza Juliana with physical disabilities and John’s syndrome for him he thought the Betty she had procedure demons.
The father to the (Mbeiza Juliana) started discriminating since her childhood, believing that she is a curse from God and these beliefs lead Mbeiza Juliana to be isolated, neglected, exclusion and discrimination from their family members and community at large because they don’t want to sit, eat and play with the child.
Namukose Betty was selling pancakes to Kaliro church primary school to support her 7children plus others dependant. Still, it’s now three months without selling pancakes because of the Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic and the health status of Mbeiza Juliana. All schools were closed, and we currently depend on porridge as food for two to three days.
Mbeiza Juliana she is at high risk of dying Hunger than even the Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic.
